Celebrity Solstice Ship: Celebrity Solstice is one of our more decorated ships at sea. So it’s no wonder that it’s full of “firsts.” Like the first Lawn Club at sea. The first Hot Glass Show. The first cruise line to have 5 women, also known as “the Leading Ladies” redesign, and redecorate the staterooms. Some other things that set Celebrity Solstice apart are its specialty restaurants. Chef Jacques Van Staden’s passion for food has taken the restaurants, the food and the overall dining experience to a whole new level in the cruising world.

But staterooms and specialty restaurants are only part of this ship’s charm. Celebrity Solstice also has the AquaSpa by Elemis and fitness center, where you can pamper yourself with spa treatments or push yourself in a workout with one of our trainers.

If only life on land was as good as life on Celebrity Solstice.

Your Host: Steve Hansen

Steve was born and raised in Brigham City, Utah. As a youth, his family did very little traveling other than camping trips to Yellowstone National Park. The world began to open up to him when he traveled to Europe at the end of his senior year in high school with a group of drama students. For six weeks they performed the play, The Miracle Worker, at locations in Greece, Italy, France, Switzerland and England. He decided then that the world was a  very beautiful and he later served an LDS mission to the island of Taiwan. While there, he learned to speak fluent Mandarin and to really love the Chinese people.

Steve later married his high school sweetheart, Janet Hansen. They are residents of Kaysville, Utah, and are the parents of five children and currently have eleven grandchildren. Steve graduated from Utah State University with a degree in business and has enjoyed a career as a financial planner for over forty years. During that time, he and Janet have had the opportunity to travel to dozens of beautiful and interesting places throughout the world and are always fascinated with each place they explore.
