Itinerary:

November 1 – A morning flight from Los Angeles will take you to Johannesburg, South Africa! The international flight leaves at 9:00am so there is a chance you may have to overnight in Los Angeles the evening of October 31.

africa66November 2 – Arrival at Johannesburg International Airport. Transfer to the airport hotel and get rested for a grand adventure!

November 3 – Transfer through the countryside to scenic Kruger National Park! You will be staying right inside the park. Upon arrival, enjoy a little bit of free time before your tasty “boma” dinner that will be waiting. (Breakfast, Dinner)

November 4 – Start the day with a beautiful panoramic tour including a view to God’s Window with its beautiful Waterfall. God’s Window majestic cliffs plunge over 1/2 mile to the Lowveld and the game reserves which have made the area one of Africa’s prime wildlife destinations. From this vantage point a 150 mile long rampart of sheer cliffs – opens a vista into a plush forest. On a clear day it is possible to see over the Kruger National Park towards the Lebombo Mountains on the border with Mozambique. This afternoon, get ready for your first safari experience on an afternoon/early evening game drive in Kruger Park. The animals are waiting! Dinner in the restaurant. (Breakfast, Dinner)

africa76November 5 – Full day Safari in 4 x 4 vehicles with a professional game ranger. Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. The world-renowned Kruger National Park offers a wildlife experience that ranks with the best in Africa. It covers 7,332 sq mi and extends 220 mi from north to south and 37 mi from east to west. All the big five (lion, elephant, water buffalo, leopard, and rhino) are found here. Here we will experience the Africa that we have long dreamed of. Transfer to a resort right at the edge of Kruger National Park where you will be staying the rest of the trip. (Breakfast, Dinner)

November 6 – Another full day exploring Kruger with its birds, rhinos, impalas, wildebeest, leopards, hippos and so much more. Dinner and overnight at your safari resort. (Breakfast, Dinner)

africa68November 7 – With your safari experience coming to an end, why not enjoy one more morning chasing animals around South Africa? After your final game drive, the afternoon is free to relax at your lodge. (Breakfast, Dinner)

November 8 – After breakfast, begin the journey back to Johannesburg where your flight back to the USA leaves this evening. (Breakfast)

November 9 – You will arrive into Los Angeles late this morning and be able to take a connecting flight back to your home city this afternoon.

 

Your Host: Bill and Diana McGuire

Bill graduated from Brigham Young University in Political Science and then went on to graduate with the second graduating class of the J. Reuben Clark Law School. He was employed with the Davis County Attorney’s Office for 34 years where he worked as a prosecutor for 30 years and ended his career in the Civil Division of the office. Bill is an avid sports enthusiast whose main passion is golf. Diana is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics and a Master’s Degree in Nutritional Science. She spent almost 30 years teaching in the Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Science Department at BYU, as both a Professor and the Director of the Dietetic Internship Program. Having recently retired, she now spends time on her other passions: piano, violin (just recently!), and being Nana. Bill and Diana have enjoyed traveling to various parts of the world and deem their five children and fifteen grandchildren to be their greatest accomplishments.
