France Temple Tour – From Paris to the beaches of Normandy – August 21-28, 2017
The Paris France Temple will be dedicated on May 21, 2017. The temple will serve 38,000 members of the church living in France. The temple is walking distance from the Palace at Versailles with its beautiful grounds and rich history. We have waited until we could secure the Novotel Chateau de Versailles to set up this trip. From this wonderful hotel you can easily walk to the Paris Temple, the local LDS church building and the Palace at Versailles. From this location you will be able to visit the Paris Temple more than once.
Monday, August 21 – Depart the USA for Paris, France
Tuesday, August 22 – Morning arrival in Paris. Transfer to your hotel. Time in the afternoon to attend the new Paris Temple.
Wednesday, August 23 – Discover the highlights of Paris including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre Museum with its Mona Lisa. Part of the sightseeing today will be aboard a river cruise ship on the famous Seine River – a fantastic way to see Paris. (Breakfast)
Thursday, August 24– We are off to the coast of Normandy where you will relive D-Day, the largest land, sea and air military operation ever undertaken. You will visit the US cemetery where you can pay your respect to the thousands that lost their lives on June 6, 1944.
That evening you will stay in Rouen, France located on the Seine River. We will visit the Notre Dame Cathedral in that city and watch the laser show that is broadcast on the walls of the cathedral. (Breakfast)
Friday, August 25 – Travel from Rouen back to your Novotel near the Paris temple. Enjoy a free afternoon at the temple. (Breakfast)
Saturday, August 26 – Visit the Palace at Versailles and the grounds that surround the palace. Touring Versailles is impressive. (Breakfast)
Sunday, August 27 – Today is a free day. Church services are within walking distance or a short cab ride to the Versailles ward. (Breakfast)
Monday, August 28 – Transfer to the airport for your flight back home arriving that evening. (Breakfast)

Rick and Mary Jo Roberts love to travel as do their 12 children. They did a lot of camping in their early life together as they owned and operative a whitewater rafting company in Southern California for 25 years. They have lived in China teaching English and Africa for 2 years managing humanitarian welfare projects. The Roberts have traveled extensively, worldwide, escorting groups to China, Costa Rica, Peru, Argentina, Europe and Canada as well as numerous trips to Africa. They have vivid memories of road trips in their own homeland from coast to coast and to Alaska. Mary Jo, as a young woman, lived in France for 2 years. They live in the shadow of the BYU campus in Provo, Utah.
