A Mediterranean Dream Cruise: Italy, Greece, & Israel! – October 5-20, 2018 

Are you ready to cruise in 2018? You will be taken to places that people dream of seeing. You will cruise in luxury to Italy, Israel and Greece for an incredible price! A 2-day land tour of Rome is included in this package so that you can discover the “Eternal City.” Celebrity Cruises will transport you from port to port in comfort and elegance.

Itinerary:

**Included in the package pricing are the touring days in Rome mentioned below. During the cruise, the port shore excursions are not included. Optional pricing for those will come down the road and below are descriptions of what excursion could possibly take place.

October 5 – Fly today from the USA to Rome, Italy!

October 6 – Arrive in Rome and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the evening is yours to relax or explore on your own.

October 7Rome, Italy – Start your day with a city tour that includes the Vatican and the famous Sistine Chapel. Following the tour, it is off to your cruise ship to begin your grand Mediterranean cruise adventure. (Breakfast, Cruise Meals)

October 8 – Enjoy a relaxing day at sea. (Cruise Meals)

October 9 – Crete, Greece – An ancient city on Crete’s north coast, Chania overlooks the Aegean against a dramatic mountain backdrop. Its Old Town is a delight of narrow streets of Byzantine, Venetian and Turkish architecture filled with shops, tavernas and cafes. (Cruise Meals)

October 10 – Enjoy a relaxing day at sea. (Cruise Meals)

October 11 – Jerusalem, Israel – Leave the ship this morning and drive to Jerusalem. From the Mount of Olives you will have your first view of the City of Gold, Jerusalem. You will descend down the Mount as Jesus did to Gethsemane where Christ suffered for us all. Visit the Western (Wailing) Wall, most holy site for all of Judaism. Here Jews pray daily for the return of the temple and the Great Messiah. The Upper Room is nearby where the Savior met with his Apostles for Passover and there teach the new law, the sacrament. Visit Golgotha which is the traditional site of the terrible crucifixion. Nearby we will visit the peaceful Garden Tomb and remember the glorious message “He is not here, He has risen”. There will be time for shopping prior to leaving for the ship. (Cruise Meals)

October 12 – Jerusalem, Israel – Another full day is planned in Jerusalem today! (Cruise Meals)

October 13 – Galilee, Israel – Arrive in the port of Haifa. You will view the beautiful gardens of the famous Bahai faith. Travel next to the Sea of Galilee. Here visit the Mount of Beatitudes where Christ taught the multitude. Next the ruins of Capernaum where Christ lived, performed many of his miracles, and recruited his first followers among the fisherman. Sail upon the Sea of Galilee and remember Christ Calming the storm, and also walking on water. You will view the beautiful Golan Heights and visit the Jordan River. (Cruise Meals)

October 14 – Enjoy a relaxing day at sea. (Cruise Meals)

October 15 – Mykonos, Greece – In the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean lies one of the most inviting places in all of Greece – Mykonos. Its countless bays and beaches and its quaint cobblestone streets are bound to welcome any visitor. According to Greek mythology, it was here that Hercules slew the Giants; the large rocks that are scattered about the island are said to be their petrified corpses. True or not, you’ll have to judge for yourself. Either way, the Island of Mykonos should not be missed. (Cruise Meals)

October 16 – Athens, Greece – Discover the splendors of Greece’s epic past in the ancient city that is also the capital of a modern nation. The hilltop Acropolis has overlooked Athens for 2,500 years. Below, a park-like promenade links many iconic sights. (Cruise Meals)

October 17 – Enjoy a relaxing day at sea. (Cruise Meals)

greece3October 18 – Naples, Italy – One of Europe’s oldest cities, Naples is vibrant and filled with rich artistic and architectural heritage. Nearby sights include the ruins of ancient Pompeii uncovers, the idyllic resort isle of Capri, and the jewel-like towns that dot the Amalfi Coast. (Cruise Meals)

October 19 Rome, Italy – Your cruise ends this morning in Rome. Continue touring Rome and step back in time as you explore the Colosseum. A private group farewell dinner tonight will bring our journey to a close. Overnight in Rome. (Cruise Breakfast, Dinner)

October 20 – Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.

Bill graduated from Brigham Young University in Political Science and then went on to graduate with the second graduating class of the J. Reuben Clark Law School. He was employed with the Davis County Attorney’s Office for 34 years where he worked as a prosecutor for 30 years and ended his career in the Civil Division of the office. Bill is an avid sports enthusiast whose main passion is golf. Diana is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics and a Master’s Degree in Nutritional Science. She spent almost 30 years teaching in the Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Science Department at BYU, as both a Professor and the Director of the Dietetic Internship Program. Having recently retired, she now spends time on her other passions: piano, violin (just recently!), and being Nana. Bill and Diana have enjoyed traveling to various parts of the world and deem their five children and fifteen grandchildren to be their greatest accomplishments.
