Calgary Stampede with Glacier National Park, Waterton, Banff & Lake Louise – July 10-17, 2017

Join us on tour as we head North to Glacier National Park and onto the majestic Canadian Rockies to visit Waterton, Banff & Lake Louise.

We have packed the tour with an explosion of beautiful scenery along with the excitement of the famous Calgary Stampede Rodeo and Chuck Wagon Races.

Itinerary:

Monday, July 10, 2017 – This morning we will board our deluxe motorcoach (pick up locations in either Salt Lake, Ogden,  Logan or Brigham City, Utah) in anticipation of a sensational week of touring some of North America’s most spectacular scenery. We’ll head north through the Gem State of Idaho with a stop for lunch near the banks of the Snake River in Idaho Falls, and then travel on to the “Big Sky Country” of Montana. We’ll get checked into our pleasing accommodations followed by a delicious welcome dinner. (Dinner included)

Tuesday, July 11, 2017 – We have packed this day with fun and an explosion of beautiful scenery. Along our way we’ll travel through picturesque Flathead Valley (which is noted for its sweet cherries) on the eastern shores of Flathead Lake (which happens to be the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi). You are in for a treat this afternoon as we visit the mountain town of Bigfork. This charming hamlet on the waterfront provides a great opportunity to wander around this beautiful lakeside town and enjoy the shops and galleries. Accommodations this evening are in Whitefish, Montana just outside of Glacier National Park. A wonderful and memorable dinner is planned tonight at the Grouse Mountain Lodge. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

Wednesday, July 12, 2017 – Majestic, awe-inspiring, breathtaking, magnificent – the Canadian Rockies deserve every accolade they have ever inspired. We will get to experience the Rockies on both sides of the US / Canadian border. Just a short drive from our hotel we will be the first visit – the postcard perfect Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park. It is here that will board the beautifully restored touring vehicles (known as Jammers), for our trip on the famous Going-to-the Sun Road. After crossing 6,664 foot high Logan Pass, well enter an unspoiled domain of alpine scenery and stop for lunch at Rising Sun.
At the end of our Going-to-the-Sun excursion we will re-board our motorcoach and enter Canada. We will continue traveling north making a brief stop in Cardston to view the LDS Temple, which was built in 1923.
Then it’s Welcome to Calgary! Once considered a cow town, it is now a very modern and sophisticated city. It was home to the 1988 Winter Olympics and is home to the World Famous Calgary Stampede! Relax and settle in because the next three nights will be spent in Calgary, Canada’s friendliest city. (Breakfast & Lunch included)

Thursday, July 13, 2017 – Today we’re in for some wild-west excitement as we step through the gates of Stampede Park. Early this afternoon we’ll watch the best of the best saddle up for a ground-shaking showcase of World-Class Rodeo action. Our reserved grandstand seats (in the shade) will be great for viewing the $750,000 Rodeo.
This evening we will watch the pages of western history come alive right before our eyes as we experience the heart-stopping Chuckwagon Races which have been described as the “Greatest Show on Earth.” But this is only the start of a sensational Stampede evening. We’ll also get to see a 90-minute outdoor stage show featuring hundreds of dancers, singers, and musicians whom will dazzle us in the gigantic production. A spectacular fireworks finale will be the ending of this memorable day. (Breakfast included)

Friday, July 14, 2017 – Pack your camera for today’s excursion to Banff National Park. We’ll make a photo-stop at picturesque Moraine Lake before our stop at Lake Louise. The beautiful green-blue waters of Lake Louise form a perfect mirror reflection of Mount Victoria and its glacier. You’ll have time to take a brief stroll along the shores before we make our way to a grand luncheon at Lake Louise Station Restaurant. Later this afternoon is it off to Banff, Canada’s favorite year-round resort town. Here in Banff you will have free time to mosey around town and visit the colorful streets as you visit the great boutiques and galleries Banff is known for. (Breakfast & Luncheon included)

Saturday, July 15, 2017 Another spectacular day is planned as we depart Calgary and travel south to Waterton, the sleepy lakeside village nestled in the mountains of southern Alberta, Canada. Wateron Lakes National Park borders Glacier National Park in Montana to form the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park. Here in Waterton we will visit Cameron Falls, enjoy a scenic two hour boat ride on Waterton Lake crossing the international border and enjoy a marvelous afternoon luncheon at the famous Prince of Wales Hotel. Have your cameras ready because this is one of western Canada’s most photographed areas. We are very fortunate to have accommodations at the world famous Prince of Wales Lodge where you will have the evening free free to soak up the beauty of this glorious location. (Breakfast & Luncheon included)

Sunday, July 16, 2017 – Spend the morning relaxing at your beautiful mountain resort. This afternoon, sit back and watch the magnificent landscape unfold as we head south to Butte, Montana. A portion of our picturesque drive today will follow the route of North America’s longest river, the Missouri River. A tasty farewell dinner is planned in a fun and unique setting. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

Monday, July 17, 2017 – Today we say goodbye to Montana and head for home with wonderful memories of this beautiful mountainous region. (Breakfast included)
